Hoisin Sauce

This one is a game changer for any Asian dish. It's insane how similar this stuff tastes to the real thing, even though sugar and soy, the 2 main ingredients, aren't used. I actually prefer this version! It is more flavorful and has a smoother texture.

Hoisin Sauce  Ingredients  -1 tablespoon canola oil -1 large garlic clove, minced -1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder, legal -1/2 cup black garlic cloves -1/3 cup honey, or more to taste -2 tablespoons white vinegar  Directions  1. Heat the oil in a small saucepan 2. add the garlic and the five-spice powder, stirring, for a minute max. 3. Whisk in the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, and turn the heat down to low as you stir for 5 minutes. 4.With an immersion blender, puree it until it’s smooth.
